A Top Quality, Carcharodon hastalis,  Mako shark tooth (upper anterior jaw tooth) from the Lee Creek mine, Aurora, No. Carolina. Note - This tooth exhibits the classic characteristic shape of the middle Miocene Mako teeth found both in the Lee Creek mine and the NC red site. I do not see this Mako tooth shape from other Miocene deposits. Possibly a hastalis species variation and it is referred to as the "narrow form". Maximum size is approximately 2". This tooth has a rich tan & blue crown and a tan colored root. Excellent colors!  Razor sharp cutting edge. Excellent preservation - note nutrient hole on root. It is a Miocene tooth from the Pungo River Fm. An excellent collector's tooth. Authenticity guaranteed.

An ultra rare, Top Quality EXTRA LARGE Edestus heinrichi shark whorl section with 4 big crowns, from Sparta, Illinois. An August Fossil of the Month. This is a Paleozoic shark that lived in swamps that our now underground coal deposits. Excellent preservation and serrations. Note - extra long root whorl section with 4 extra large crowns - very rare. The Edestus shark would have an upper and lower tooth whorl that are vertically opposed. Research showed that they could use their opposing teeth in a scissor-like motion to cut prey. It is the first animal to cut vertically. A very strange looking and unique acting shark. Shark recreation image is credited to Julio Lacerdo. These rare teeth are Pennsylvanian age from Illinois. No repair or restoration. Authenticity guaranteed. A very rare, EXTRA LARGE Otodus sokolovi upper jaw, anterior tooth from Kert, Mangyshlak, western Kazakhstan. A November Fossil of the Month. This location produces top quality teeth with brown colored enamel. The extra large bourlette that is complete. Nice extra coarse serrations and killer, large side cusps with very irregular serrations. The root is very thivh (~1-1/8") and complete.These teeth exhibit exceptional color, gloss, and preservation. Lower Schorym Formation - Bartonian - 40 MYA. This is a rare, late Eocene "Auriculatus" tooth also known as Otodus sokolovi! No repair or restoration. Authenticity guaranteed. A rare, Top Quality, EXTRA LARGE Anzu wyliei hand (manus) claw from the Hell Creek Fm. of SE Montana. Another June 2018 Fossil of the Month. Anzu is referred to as the "Chicken from Hell". An exceptional manus claw. Highest quality rich brown color and patina. This specimen has incredible perservation with exceptional surfaces - no pitting, nicks or wear - superb surface articulation! There is some professional restoration which is typical for a big Anzu wyliei manus claw. The tip has a small section repaired and the proximal edge has a small triangular area repaired which starts at the center of proximal surface (see photo).
