This is a complete scute ("body armor") which is most likely from the dominate crocodile for the region - Elosuchus. A Very Rare, LARGE Top Quality Xamplyodon dentatus tooth from Hornby Island, British Columbia, Canada. This is a new genius from the Late Cretaceous deep water Northumberland Formation deposit. A unique species of Hexanchiforme shark. The crown is complete with 3 cusplets (2 reattached / one missing) and the root is nearly complete.  High quality enamel. No repair.
