A Top Quality, "Picture Tooth" Megalodon tooth - an upper jaw tooth from the Broad River,  So. Carolina. An excellent Charcoal Gray with light Gray "clouds" colored crown. Highest quality enamel. The bourlette is a gorgeous black color and 95% complete. The serrations are extra large and sharp with a decent tip and nearly formed small humps at the base. The root is charcoal color, nicely articulated, and complete with root ears & root lobe indentions. This is definitely an earlier Miocene age tooth. No repair or restoration. A Top Quality, Extra Large rare transition GW tooth, Carcharodon hubbelli. An upper jaw anterior tooth. Another December 2017 Fossil of the Month. The C. hubbelli serrations are full at the base of the cutting edge, transition to fine serrations at mid crown and disappear towards the tip. This tooth has an excellent blue colored crown ("blue site"), brown root, and a vivid dark maroon "gum line". Excellent color. No repair.
