An EXTRA LARGE, GEM Great White shark tooth - upper jaw anterior tooth from Chile. A November 2018 Fossil of the Month. This tooth has a rich tan & gold colored crown, a large distinct brown gum line, and a brown root. Note - This tooth exhibits the classic characteristic shape of the middle Miocene Mako teeth found both in the Lee Creek mine and the NC red site. I do not see this Mako tooth shape from other Miocene deposits. Possibly a hastalis species variation and it is referred to as the "narrow form". Maximum size is approximately 2".
