An EXTRA LARGE, Paraspirifer bownockeri brachiopod from the Silica Shale Fm., Sylvania, Ohio. Brachiopods are bivalve molluscs, and this is a big one. A LARGE, Top Quality Elosuchus(?) crocodile scute from the Kem Kem region of Morocco. Incredible detail and color. This is a complete scute ("body armor") which is most likely from the dominate crocodile for the region - Elosuchus. The crocodile scute is Mid Cretaceous epoch, Cenomanian stage (96 million years ago). No repair or restoration. An exceptional collector's scute. Authenticity guaranteed. A Gem Quality Miocene-Pliocene Mastodon molar from Florida. Incredible color (red, gold & brown) and detail. An August Fossil of the Month. An extinct elephant ancestor that inhabited North America during the late Miocene to late Pliocene. This molar is a recently erupted tooth with a small amount of cusp wear. Excellent articulation. An ultra rare, Top Quality Tyrannosaur toe bone from the late Cretaceous (Campanian) in northern North America. Please note that this toe bone could Albertosaurus, Gorgosaurus or Daspletosaurus - see Detailed Discussion below. This toe bone measures 2-9/16" - an excellent Tyrannosaur toe bone. This could be the last or the next to last digit of the long toe (see Albertosaurus foot photo). The bone is high quality and complete with excellent color. Minor crack fill. A TOP QUALITY Megalonyx leptostomus sloth claw from an extinct genus of giant ground sloths and our December 2017 Fossil of the Month. This claw has excellent preservation and shows little water wear. It's complete down to a nice tip with absolutely no restoration or repair. Excellent preservation of the proximal end. There is a little eriosion on the top of the claw. A wonderful Late Pliocene - Early Pleistocene display piece from northern Florida. Authenticity guaranteed. One of my favorites!
