A 2nd May 2016 Fossil of the Month is a GEM light brown colored "Picture" Megalodon - PRINCIPAL ANTERIOR tooth. Fantastic colors - a mix of light brown, reddish brown, some blue and charcoal highlights. Highest quality enamel - glass-like surface with no hydration cracks. The finest enamel preservation - very rare! A very nice deep brown bourlette - 100% complete. Razor sharp serrations including an excellent tip serration. The root is incredible - a medium brown, nicely articulated, and complete with no hydration cracks on the display side. One of the finest preserved Megalodon teeth that I have seen. An exceptional collector's Megalodon tooth from a new Georgia site. A PERFECT "Picture" Megalodon tooth. BEST of the BEST!

One of the finest examples of a classic upper jaw anterior blue Lee Creek Megs considering the shape, color, and preservation. An exceptional collector's tooth from the old days at Lee Creek mine. A TOP QUALITY Deltadromeus tooth from the Cretaceous Kem Kem deposits of Morocco. Sharp serrations. Great preservation. Excellent red color. Great posterior profile curve. An excellent tooth from a mid size Cretaceous theropod. No cracks. No repair or restoration. These teeth are very uncommon. Please see my Deltadromeus tooth discussion below. This is my best estimate of this species based upon the characteristics of this theropod and distinguishing it from other known Kem Kem theropod species.
