A LARGE, well preserved horse lower jaw (Equus sp. ) from northern Florida.  The horse arrived in North America during the late Pliocene and became extinct at the end of the Pleistocene. An EXTRA LARGE Top Quality Scyphocrinites elegans crinoid from Alnif, southeastern Morocco. A January Fossil of the Month.  The Scyphocrinites crinoid was a floating variety which was attached to a holdfast air bladder that supported multiple stems and calyx ("flower").
