The May 2015 Fossil of the Month. My BEST GEM, EXTRA LARGE Megalodon PRINCIPAL ANTERIOR upper jaw tooth from the Ashapoo River, So. Carolina. A "PICTURE" Meg with a gorgeous light brown ("Ashapoo") crown with charcoal colored "clouds". Highest quality enamel. The medium brown bourlette is incredible, very glossy, nearly complete, and very showy. The serrations are incredibly large and sharp with an excellent tip serration, and 100% complete - perfect! Incredible serrations for a big Meg - among the finest (see the close photos)! The root is complete, nicely articulated, few hydration cracks and a gorgeous chocolate brown color. Excellent symmetry. A LARGE, TOP QUALITY serrated Nanotyrannus lancensis premaxillary tooth from the western US. The premaxillary teeth were the front teeth, have a "D" shaped base, and were not large. Most Nano premaxillary teeth are non-serrate. This Nano has small serrations on one side - rare.  This premaxillary (front) tooth measures 1" (straight line).  The enamel is excellent quality. Note -This tooth also has a wide base for a Nano premax tooth. No cracks. No repair or restoration. Legally collected on private land in the Hell Creek Fm., Garfield Co., Montana. An EXTRA LARGE Top Quality Carcharodontosaurus saharicus tooth from the Kem Kem deposits of Morocco. An October Fossil of the Month. An excellent red colored tooth. High quality enamel. Excellent preservation. This tooth is 100% crown, no root. Excellent anterior and posterior serrations. Serrated to the tip. A good tip. No cracks. An Ultra Rare, Top Quality 4-3/4" Sharktooth Hill Megalodon tooth found in the Round Mountain Silt near Bakersfield, California. A location that produces very few Megalodon teeth and one of the toughest Megs to locate. A March 2021 Fossil of the Month. This tooth is still embedded in its original Round Mountain silt matrix block with a large whale bone. The whale bone is 7" long and 1.5" wide. Highest quality enamel with an excellent tan color. The bourlette is a tan color and 85% complete. The serrations are extra large and 100% complete. The root is nicely articulated and complete. Also note the grooves on the root ends - a Miocene trait. This is a middle Miocene Meg - very unique! Note - This is a 100% natural matrix block with nothing added or glued. No repair or restoration other the very tip. You will not see these middle Miocene Sharktooth Hill Megs from Bakersfield, California very often. Authenticity guaranteed. An ultra rare Top Quality, Allosaurus fragilis finger III (including the manus claw and two non-associated digits). A February Fossil of the Month. This Allosaurus finger III measures 6". The manus claw measures 2-15/16" with exceptional bone quality. Rich black-brown color. Excellent overall condition. The tip was repaired. Both hand bones are complete with no rapair. Allosaurus was the apex predator during the late Jurassic. Legally collected on private land in the Morrison Fm., Bone Cabin Quarry, Albany Co., Wyoming. Authenticity guaranteed.
