A well preserved, ultra rare Scyphocrinites elegans crinoid holdfast from Morocco. The Scyphocrinites crinoids were floating crinoids and their holdfast was actually an air bladder that supported multiple stems and calyx. This holdfast is bulbous with a great amount of detail. These crinoids make fantastic display pieces. An excellent rare holdfast specimen. A rare, EXTRA LARGE Chubutensis tooth from Peru - upper jaw tooth. An excellent tan colored crown with no peel. Large side cusps. Extra sharp serrations are excellent with some damage. The bourlette is a light tan color and mostly complete. The root is excellent light tan color, nicely articulated, and complete with few hydration cracks. A Top Quality, CLASSIC Bone Valley Megalodon tooth from Venice, Florida. Our last Fossil of the Month offering for December. The crown has a fantastic dark green-gray colored enamel with dark swirls across the top - very unusual! The bourlette is black & eroded and the root is an off white. Great color! The PERFECT, very rare Parotodus benedeni tooth. An April 2019 Fossil of the Month. Lateral tooth. The crown has extremely sharp cutting edges. Exceptional light tan & blue color and preservation. An incredible wide bourlette. The root is ~5/8" thick and shows few small hydration cracks! Note- grooves on the sides of the root lobes - a Miocene tooth trait. One of the finest LC lateral Parotodus teeth that I have seen. This incredible Parotodus was found in the Pungo River Formation (Miocene age).
