A rare, Top Quality Hadrosaur tooth from the late Cretaceous of No. Carolina. Hadrosaurs are known as "duck-bill" dinosaurs found in North America. The enamel is very good quality with excellent color / patina. A great partial crown with serrations. No repair or restoration. Legally collected on private land in the Tar Heel Fm., Elizabethtown, No. Carolina. Early to Middle Campanian age (83 - 77 mya).  An excellent collector's quality Hadrosaur tooth. A Top Quality Alethopteris sp. - fossil fern display piece from St. Clair, Pennsylvania. A December Fossil of the Month. Alethopteris is an extinct genus of primitive seed fern that evolved during the Pennsylvanian Period. This specimen is well preserved with white colored ferns on a near black colored shale matrix. This white coating is a characteristic of the mineral pyrophyllite. The St. Clair area is known for their white ferns on black matrix. Pennsylvanian age. (300 mya). It weighs 16.8 pounds.
