An ultra rare, GEM Quality Torvosaurus tanneri tooth from the Morrison Formation. A September Fossil of the Month. This completeTorvosaurus crown measures 1-516". The enamel is highest quality. Excellent rich green -brown color. Exceptional posterior and anterior serrations. Note - the anterior carina end about 1/2 of the way down from the tip. The diagnostic for a Torvosaurus tooth. Fantastic overall enamel condition and serrations. No repair or restoration. Torvosaurus was a large predator during the late Jurassic with large teeth designed to slash predators. A Top Quality Megalodon tooth from Georgia. A MArch Fossil of the Month. The crown has excellent Blue color. The enamel is the Highest Quality with very small hydration cracks. An BLACK colored bourlette which is mostly complete. Razor sharp, extra large serrations including an excellent tip serration. The root is a charcoal color, nicely articulated, and complete. This tooth has extra large root end grooves and the base of the serrations has two unique pathologies (possible Chubutensis? (see close up photos) Traits of a Miocene age Megalodon tooth.
