Our 2nd November FOTM is a GEM quality, rare Araucaria mirabilis pine cone specimen from Argentina. Extra large stem. Exceptional definition. Only slightly compressed. An Ultra Rare, rooted Top Quality Allosaurus fragilis tooth measuring 3-3/8". This Allosaurus crown measures 1-1/2" and is wide for its size (5/8"). The enamel is high quality. Great rich brown color. Very good serrations on both sides all the way to the wear facet. Very good serrations for a large tooth. Two cracks was stabilizied. A little repair was done on the narrowest section of the root. Excellent overall condition with very good serrations. An excellent quality tooth! Allosuarus was the apex during the late Jurassic with large teeth designed to slash predators. Legally collected on private land in the Morrison Fm., Moffat Co., Colorado. An upper jaw anterior tooth.  "Picture" GW tooth with a nice GRAY & TAN  colored enamel and a solid dark gray colored root. Root is well preserved - very difficult to find in the Carolina GWs.
