A TOP QUALITY, ~6" Classic Lee Creek Megalodon tooth - ANTERIOR tooth. Our June 2017 Fossil of the Month. This Megalodon has an incredible golden tan colored crown with an exceptional mahogany brown bourlette - essentially complete with two toned color. Highest quality enamel. Exceptional golden tan enamel! The bourlette is extra large and near perfect. The serrations are razor sharp with an exceptional tip serration. Nearly PERFECT serrations (a few serrations damaged near the base  - all serrations are razor sharp. Exceptional serrations for a really big Meg! The root is an excellent tan color with very few no hydration cracks and complete. This Megalodon was found in the Yorktown Formation, Lee Creek mine, NC (Pliocene age = 4.5 MYA). A HUGE, Top Quality Ptychodus mammillaris, an extinct durophagous (shell-crushing) shark, tooth from Dallas Co., Texas. An excellent example of this Upper Cretaceous Kamp Ranch Fm. tooth. These massive teeth have a design with strong transverse ridges across the cusp that transition to a concentric pattern at the base of the cusp. Authenticity guaranteed. Note - one margin has a natural crack which contains matrix within it and the root structure is missing. This is a rare species and a suer rare size - this specimen exceeds the maximum size recorded for Texas!

A LARGE Auriculatus tooth. Lateral tooth. Fair quality enamel. Serrations are sharp. The tip area was broke during feeding and is worn smooth. This shark was eating some tough whales as well. Slightly water worn. Typical commercial grade tooth.
