A rare, Top Quality Hadrosaur tooth from the late Cretaceous of No. Carolina. Hadrosaurs are known as "duck-bill" dinosaurs found in North America. The enamel is very good quality with excellent color / patina. A great partial crown with serrations. No repair or restoration. Legally collected on private land in the Tar Heel Fm., Elizabethtown, No. Carolina. Early to Middle Campanian age (83 - 77 mya).  An excellent collector's quality Hadrosaur tooth. An October Fossil of the Month.  The Phareodus was a carnivorous fish with large pointed teeth and a long pectoral fin. This piece is from the 18 Inch Layer which is extremely hard and difficult to prepare. It also provides the most detailed, highly preserved fossils. Exceptional preservation and preparation.
