A HIGH QUALITY Megalodon - upper jaw tooth from West Java, Indonesia. This Megalodon has an excellent tan colored crown with red & gold colored bourlette. High quality enamel. Excellent color! A HIGH QUALITY Megalodon - lower jaw tooth from West Java, Indonesia. This Megalodon has an excellent Tan with light brown highlights colored crown with a large tan colored bourlette. Highest quality enamel. Very good color! The serrations are razor sharp with a great tip. The root has erosion which happens with most West Java Megs. Tooth has one crack. No restoration. An ultra rare, Top Quality Edestus heinrichi, a complete whorl with three crowns from Herrin, Illinois. A July Fossil of the Month. This is a Paleozoic shark that lived in swamp that our now underground coal deposits. Exceptional preservation, serrations, and serration detail. The Edestus shark would have an upper and lower tooth whorl that are vertically opposed. Research showed that they could use their opposing teeth in a scissor-like motion to cut prey. It is the first animal to cut vertically with linear tooth whorls. A very strange looking and unique acting shark. This whorl is incredibly massive at 6" long with three crowns. The whorl body is well perserved with an excellent bright line of pyrite below the crown enamel. The crowns are large at 1-5/8" wide and look fantastic. Note - One crown tip has a small professional repair (~1/8") which is very common for a whorl. Pennsylvanian age from Illinois. Authenticity guaranteed. The Edestus shark recreation image is credited to Julio Lacerdo. These Edestus whorls are extremely rare. This whorl comes with a custon steel stand and  makes a fantastic display piece. My lowest price ever for a complete whorl!

The October 2015 Week #4 Fossil of the Month is a LARGE, GEM Megalodon PRINCIPAL ANTERIOR upper jaw tooth from the Bolan Hall Creek, Jasper Co., So. Carolina. A gorgeous symmetrical Meg with a greenish - tan crown. High quality enamel. The brown bourlette is incredible, very glossy, anbd essentially complete. The serrations are incredibly sharp -" razor-like" with an exceptional tip serration and nearly perfect! Incredible serrations for a bigger So. Carolina Meg - among the finest (see the close photos)! Commonly referred to as Isurus hastalis, but renamed to Carcharodon hastalis as a Great White shark ancestor. A Top Quality Cretodus crassidens, an extinct Mackerel shark, tooth from Dallas Co., Texas. An excellent example of this Lower Cretaceous Eagle Ford Fm. tooth. These massive teeth have a design that includes a large / heavy root with high root face, a narrow crown width, and broad side cusps. This is the big shark tooth in Texas Cretaceous deposits which can reach 2.6". This is a lateral tooth with perfect side cusps. Authenticity guaranteed. Perfect tooth. I don't see many of these teeth.
