An ultra rare, 5-5/8" GEM, Deep Red North Carolina Carcharocles megalodon, an upper jaw Principal Anterior tooth from the Meherrin River copper-red site. This incredibly rare tooth is our February Fossil of the Month. NC001 has an incredible deep red colored crown. The finest color from the copper red site! The enamel is the highest quality. The serrations are essentially prefect with a needle-like tip serration. The root is perfect. A High Quality Edmontosaurus annectens lower jaw section from the late Cretaceous of North America. Edmontosaurus is a very large hadrosaur or "duck-bill" dinosaur found in the Hell Creek formation. They possessed ~300 teeth that were in columns of five teeth each which acted as conveyor belt to maintain a large chewing surface to cut and grind their food. This specimen is a small section of the lower jaw showing two grooves where the columns of teeth were positioned. Bone quality is very good. No restoration.
