Possibly an attempt to create serrations. There have been some C. hubellii GW transition teeth found in the mine.  This tooth has a rich tan crown and a light tan colored root. Excellent colors!  Razor sharp cutting edge. Excellent preservation - note nutrient hole on root. It is a Pliocene tooth from the Yorktown Fm. An excellent collector's tooth. An ultra rare, Top Quality Ankylosaurus magniventris rooted tooth from the late Cretaceous of North America. A June Fossil of the Month. Ankylosaurus magniventris was the largest Ankylosaur which grew to 30 feet and 17000 pounds. Note - These incredibly sized dinosaurs had small teeth and this rooted tooth is from a juvenile Ankylosaurus. The enamel is the highest quality with excellent color / patina. An Ultra Rare, Top Quality Sharktooth Hill Megalodon tooth from Pyramid Hill, Kern County, California. A location that produces very few Megalodon teeth and one of the toughest Megs to locate. A February Fossil of the Month. Highest quality enamel with a great brown and charcoal colors. The bourlette is a tan color and is nearly complete. The serrations are extra large & sharp and complete with a big tip serration. The root is nicely articulated and complete. Note the large grooves on the root ends - an early Miocene trait.
