A GEM, 6-3/16" ULTRA RARE Caribbean Megalodon tooth - an upper jaw PRINCIPAL ANTERIOR tooth. Our January 2019 Fossil of the Month offering. This Megalodon tooth has an incredible light creamy tan colored crown with interesting light charcoal gray patterning. Highest quality enamel with no hydration cracks. Exceptional color! The bourlette is large and perfect. The serrations are razor sharp including the big tip serration. Excellent serrations for a big Meg! The root is an excellent creamy tan color with no hydration cracks. An extra wide root (4-7/8" wide). Great symmetry. Note - the serrations on the right side of the tooth were damaged and professionlly restored. The damaged area was restricted to the edge only. You can see the charcoal gray patterning patterning extending to the edge of the enamel. Otherwise, a perfect tooth. This Megalodon was found in a limestone quarry in the Caribbean (Miocene age). This is an incredible, massive 6-3/16" Caribbean Meg tooth. One of finest examples of an ultra rare Caribbean Megalodon tooth that I have seen considering the shape, color, and preservation. A very rare, Otodus aksuaticus tooth from the copper-red site of No. Carolina. The crown has coarse serrations over the lower 2/3 of crown that disappear in the top 1/3 of crown. The side cusps are typical of the Otodus obliquus. Complete root. Early Eocene - Ypresian age. A very rare collector's tooth. Very few Otodus aksuaticus teeth found at this site!

A fantastic, top quality, Mammuthus primigenius, Woolly Mammoth tusk from Siberia. An August 2019 Fossil of the Month. This tusk is a manageable size at 39” straight line measurement (45" on the curve). It is a tusk of a sub-adult mammoth which lived in the late Pleistocene Ice Age some 28,000 plus years ago. This is a complete tusk with rich colors of natural browns, blues, and charcoal grays which has been properly dried and sealed. The enamel shows exceptional detail. Both ends are completely intact and complete. No repair or restoration.
