Note - This tooth exhibits the classic characteristic shape of the middle Miocene Mako teeth found both in the Lee Creek mine and the NC red site. I do not see this Mako tooth shape from other Miocene deposits. Possibly a hastalis species variation and it is referred to as the "narrow form". Maximum size is approximately 2". This tooth has a rich  blue crown and a tan colored root. Excellent colors!  Razor sharp cutting edge. Excellent preservation - note nutrient hole on root. It is a Miocene tooth from the Pungo River Fm. An excellent collector's tooth. Authenticity guaranteed. A perfect "Pungo" hastalis tooth.

A extremely rare, Top Quality Cetorhinus parvus gill raker, an extinct Basking shark, from the Mainz Basin, Germany. Gill rakers were used to filter plankton by these masive sharks. A RARE, Top Quality juvenile Araripesuchus wegenari crocodile tooth from the Kem Kem beds of Morocco. A scarce rooted tooth. Incredible detail and color. Note - the Araripesuchus has a flattened crown which gives it a flattened oval profile when viewed from the base. Thought to have a mixed diet that may have included vegetation.
