A transitional tooth leading to C. auriculatus (see detailed discussion below) which leads to Megalodon. The bourlette is complete. Tooth exhibits very fine serrations along the lower 1/3 of crown and micro serrations to the tip. A rare, Otodus sokolovi tooth from the desert of Fayum Depression, Birket-le-Qurun, Egypt. Very good condition and preservation. No repair or restoration. Complete tooth with some root pitting. This tooth was found in the Qsar-el-Sagha Fm., and is late Eocene age (38-42 MYA). Authenticity guaranteed. I have never seen an Otodus sokolovi tooth from Egypt. A rare collectors teeth.
