They possessed ~300 teeth that were in columns of five teeth each which acted as conveyor belt to maintain a large chewing surface to cut and grind their food. This specimen is a section of the lower jaw showing the grooves where the columns of teeth were positioned. Bone quality is very good. No restoration. An EXTRA LARGE, TOP QUALITY, classic Lee Creek Chubutensis tooth (predecessor of Megalodon) - upper jaw ANTERIOR tooth. Another December 2017 Fossil fo the Month.This Chubutensis has an incredible light tan and blue colored crown. The bourlette is great light tan color and complete.
