A TOP QUALITY, EXTRA LARGE & very rare Archaeocete whale, Zygorhiza kochii. Our November Fossil of the Month is a highly desirable Zygorhiza molar or "yoke" tooth.  An exceptional light brown colored crown and tan root. Nicely articulated. Complete root. This tooth has minimal repair to 2nd & 4th cusp on the left side and a small amount to the 4th cusp on the right side. Very little repair overall for a yoke tooth which are typically heavily repaired.  The BEST Archaeocete molar that I have seen from So. Carolina in a long time. A very rare collector's tooth. A TOP QUALITY, very rare Archaeocete whale, Zygorhiza kochii. A large molar tooth. The first molar has a small width yoke design. An exceptional brown colored crown and root. Nicely articulated. Huge root. Note - enamel tip shows wear pattern on crown from grinding (see photo 3). Whales do not shed their teeth like the sharks so there teeth will wear with age. This tooth has no repair. A great Archaeocete molar from So. Carolina.  A very rare collector's tooth.

An Ultra Rare, TOP QUALITY Parotodus benedeni, the False Mako, tooth from Pyramid Hill, Kern County, California. This tooth has a nice tan colored enamel and a very massive root. The crown enamel has good luster and sharp edges. High quality enamel. Note - the right root end was professionally repaired. It is difficult to see any repair. Note - This is an early Miocene (22 MYA) tooth from the Jewitt Sand Formation, An extremely difficult tooth to locate! Authenticity guaranteed. One of the rarest P. benedeni teeth.

An EXTRA LARGE, very rare, GEM Quality Parotodus benedeni  tooth with a massive root from Ridgeville., So. Carolina. A Miocene-Pliocene age tooth from the Hawthorne Fm. Nice Tan color. Lateral tooth. A May Fossil of the Month. Highest quality enamel with raxor sharp edges and a "needle-like" sharp tip. Root is complete, very thick (11/16"), nicely articulated, and a very small hydration crack. A LARGE Woolly Mammoth (Mammuthus primigenius), an early elephant, lower jaw with tooth. Found in the Indigirka River Basin, Siberia.
