A Top Quality, Carcharodon hastalis,  Mako shark tooth (upper anterior jaw tooth) from the Lee Creek mine, Aurora, No. Carolina. Note - This tooth exhibits the classic characteristic shape of the middle Miocene Mako teeth found both in the Lee Creek mine and the NC red site. I do not see this Mako tooth shape from other Miocene deposits. Possibly a hastalis species variation and it is referred to as the "narrow form". Maximum size is approximately 2". This tooth has a rich  blue crown and a brown colored root. Excellent colors!  Razor sharp cutting edge. Excellent preservation - note nutrient hole on root. A TOP QUALITY Paleolagus haydeni, fossil rabbit, mortality piece from the White River Badlands, Brule Formation, South Dakota. The mortality rock contains three skulls and parts of a few bodies. Most likely these rabbits died in their burrow. Excellent color and preservation. A rare Top Quality PATHOLOGIC Carcharodon hastalis, Broad-tooth "Mako", shark tooth from the "De Kuilen" sand pit, Mill, The Netherlands. The end of the crown of this PATHOLOGIC lower lateral tooth is severely twisted lingually (nearly 90 degrees!). This tooth has excellent color and preservation. Sharp cutting edge. A very rare, Otodus aksuaticus tooth from the copper-red site of No. Carolina. The crown has coarse serrations over the lower 2/3 of crown that disappear in the top 1/3 of crown. The side cusps are typical of the Otodus obliquus. Complete root. Early Eocene - Ypresian age. A very rare collector's tooth. Very few Otodus aksuaticus teeth found at this site!
