A Top Quality, Myliobatus sp., an Eagle ray, pavement tooth plate from the Sharktooth Hill area, near Bakersfield, California. This specimen still resides on its original Round Mountain silt matrix which make a perfect upright display. A complete lower jaw plate. Excellent preservation and gorgeous color. A HUGE, Top Quality Ptychodus mammillaris, an extinct durophagous (shell-crushing) shark, tooth from Dallas Co., Texas. An excellent example of this Upper Cretaceous Kamp Ranch Fm. tooth. These massive teeth have a design with strong transverse ridges across the cusp that transition to a concentric pattern at the base of the cusp. Authenticity guaranteed. Note - one margin has a natural crack which contains matrix within it and the root structure is missing. This is a rare species and a suer rare size - this specimen exceeds the maximum size recorded for Texas!
