A very rare, Top Quality Edestus heinrichi shark tooth, from Herrin, Illinois. This is a Paleozoic shark that lived in swamps that our now underground coal deposits. Excellent preservation, serrations, and serration detail. The Edestus shark would have an upper and lower tooth whorl that are vertically opposed. Research showed that they could use their opposing teeth in a scissor-like motion or a vertical whipping motion to cut prey. It is the first animal to cut vertically. A very strange looking and unique acting shark. Shark recreation image is credited to Julio Lacerdo. These rare teeth are Pennsylvanian age from Illinois. No repair or restoration. Authenticity guaranteed.

A rare, Top Quality, EXTRA LARGE Anzu wyliei hand (manus) claw from the Hell Creek Fm. of SE Montana. Another June 2018 Fossil of the Month. Anzu is referred to as the "Chicken from Hell". An exceptional manus claw. Highest quality rich brown color and patina. This specimen has incredible perservation with exceptional surfaces - no pitting, nicks or wear - superb surface articulation! There is some professional restoration which is typical for a big Anzu wyliei manus claw. The tip has a small section repaired and the proximal edge has a small triangular area repaired which starts at the center of proximal surface (see photo). Pachychephalosaurus is the dinosaur which is famous for its large domed head surrounded by these spikes and nodes. These spikes and nodes were part of the Pachy skull. This spike has exceptional color / patina. The blood grooves are still present in the bone. It is a complete specimen with no cracks or breaks. Note - the excellent articulated skull surface on the base of the spike. A beautifully prepared, TOP QUALITY Walliserops lindoei trilobite, the "short trident Comura".  One of the collector's favorite spiny trilobites. A November Fossil of the Month. Walliserops lindoei is an unusual looking species with three rows of spines run down its back and a trident-like fork extending from the front of the cephalon. The preparation is German with all original colors and no restoration. Exceptional completeness and preservation. An EXTRA LARGE TOP QUALITY very rare Parotodus benedeni tooth from the Lee Creek mine, Aurora, No. Carolina. A March Fossil of the Month. Lateral tooth. The crown has sharp cutting edges. Excellent BLUE color with a tan root and bourlette. The root is ~11/16" thick and shows small hydration cracks. This Parotodus tooth was found in the Yorktown Formation (Pliocene age).
