An Ultra Rare, Extra Large Pappocetus lugardi (Andrews, 1920) molar tooth from Morocco. Note - molar tooth design is one of the distinguishing features for indentifying this species.The molars demonstrate how massive Pappocetus teeth compared to the later primitive whales!  The root thickness doubles on one side and the crown gains depth as well. This material is a new find and represents one of the earliest transition forms of the whale. Pappocetus is a protocetid (see discussion below) and a large amphibious aquatic carnivore. Pappocetus is also an ancestor of the Basilosaurus. This material is complete and without repair. Crack fill only on some pieces. This is an opportunity to own an incredibly rare specimen from an early evolutionary stage of the modern whale. A fantastic collector's specimen. An incredibly sized, Top Quality Great White shark transition tooth (Carcharodon hubbelli) from Chile. An August 2019 Fossil of the Month. This ULTRA RARE, MONSTER sized Great White tooth measures 2-15/16" - a huge upper jaw PRINCIPAL ANTERIOR tooth. This tooth is an ultra rare Carcharodon hubbelli with small serrations at the base of the cutting edge that disappear towards the tip. High quality enamel! An ultra rare group of two associated TOP QUALITY Araucaria mirabilis pine cones from Argentina. A May Fossil of the Month. An Ultra Rare, High Quality Sharktooth Hill Megalodon tooth found in the Round Mountain Silt near Bakersfield, California. A location that produces very few Megalodon teeth and one of the toughest Megs to locate. Good quality enamel with a great light tan color. The bourlette is a near white color and complete. The serrations are sharp and near complete with a rounded tip. The root is nicely articulated and complete. Also note the large groove on the root ends - a Miocene trait.
