A very rare, LARGE, Top Quality Edestus heinrichi shark tooth, from Herrin, Illinois. This is a Paleozoic shark that lived in swamps that our now underground coal deposits. Note - this tooth has a lot of pyrite and the tip is naturally rounded (polished)  which thought to be due to the vertical whipping motion used to slice prey.  Excellent preservation, serrations, and serration detail. The Edestus shark would have an upper and lower tooth whorl that are vertically opposed. Research showed that they could use their opposing teeth in a scissor-like motion or a vertical whipping motion to cut prey. It is the first animal to cut vertically. A very strange looking and unique acting shark. Shark recreation image is credited to Julio Lacerdo. These rare teeth are Pennsylvanian age from Illinois. No repair or restoration. Authenticity guaranteed.

A very rare, EXTRA LARGE Otodus sokolovi upper jaw, anterior tooth from Kert, Mangyshlak, western Kazakhstan. A November Fossil of the Month. This location produces top quality teeth with brown colored enamel. The extra large bourlette that is complete. Nice extra coarse serrations and killer, large side cusps with very irregular serrations. The root is very thivh (~1-1/8") and complete.These teeth exhibit exceptional color, gloss, and preservation. A High Quality , 4-1/8" ULTRA RARE Caribbean Megalodon tooth - an upper jaw ANTERIOR tooth. This Megalodon tooth has an incredible very light creamy tan colored crown with interesting light charcoal gray patterning. High quality enamel with no hydration cracks. The Caribbean Megalodon teeth consistently offer the closest to white colored enamel. Excellent color! The bourlette is large and essentially perfect. The serrations are razor sharp including a worn tip serration. Excellent serrations! The root is an excellent creamy tan color with no hydration cracks. Great symmetry. Note - there was a 1/4" strip of the serrations on the right side of the tooth saw cut near the base and it was professionally restored. The damaged area was restricted to the edge only. This Megalodon was found in a limestone quarry in the Caribbean (Miocene age). This is an incredible Caribbean Meg tooth. A fine example of an ultra rare Caribbean Megalodon tooth, and an excellent collector's rare Megalodon tooth! Note - The limestone is sawed into thin blocks for extraction which totally destroys 99%+ of these Megalodon teeth.
