A Top Quality Notorhynchus tooth - a Sevengill Cow shark, from the Randle's Cliff, Maryland. A June Fossil of the Month. A rare lower jaw symphyseal tooth with 9 primary cusps - female species. This tooth has an excellent blue - gray color with a tan root. Great color and preservation. This is an early Miocene age, Calvert Formation tooth. An excellent collector's tooth. Excellent rich green -brown color. Exceptional posterior and anterior serrations. Note - the anterior carina end about 1/2 of the way down from the tip. The diagnostic for a Torvosaurus tooth. Fantastic overall enamel condition and serrations. No repair or restoration. Torvosaurus was a large predator during the late Jurassic with large teeth designed to slash predators.
