An ultra rare, LARGE Top Quality Ankylosaurus osteoderm (bony armor plate) from the late Cretaceous of northern North America. A January Fossil of the Month. Ankylosaurus magniventris was the largest Ankylosaur which grew to 30 feet and 17000 pounds, and a body covered with this bony armor. A complete body osteoderm plate from an adult Ankylosaurus with exceptional surface articulation. The bone is the best quality with excellent color and patina. A nice high ridge across the top shown in the first photo. Incredible perservation. No cracks or restoration. Legally collected on private land in the Lance Creek Fm., Niobrara Co., Wyoming. Authenticity guaranteed. A special collector's quality Ankylosaur osteoderm. I do not see large top quality ostederms very often.
