A RARE, Troodontid tooth from the Hell Creek Fm. of western North America. Troodontid teeth are known for their very unique shaped teeth with unusually large distal serrations. The enamel is good with a good brown color.  Good large posterior and no anterior serrations. Please note that the Troodon teeth may or may not have anterior (mesial) serrations. One crack. No repair. Legally collected on private land in the Hell Creek Fm., Carter Co., Montana. Authenticity guaranteed. This is your chance to own a rare, quality Troodontid tooth.  Note - A gem jar will be included as photographed.

Troodontids are a small, bird-like dinosaur that lived in western N. America during the late Cretaceous Period. There is one named species from the Judith River Fm. of Montana - Troodon formosus. In recently recents, the North American Troodontid has been lump into two new genera - Stenonychosaurus and Latenivenatrix mcmasterae (van der Reest & Currie, 2017). Troodontids are know for a large brain, large eyes, and a very unique shaped tooth. The Hell Creek Fm. Troodontid has not been described, but it shares the same very unique tooth as all Troodontids do.
