A Top Quality, 5-5/8" Classic Lee Creek Megalodon tooth - upper jaw PRINCIPAL ANTERIOR tooth. An October Fossil of the Month. This Megalodon has an incredible tan colored crown with an excellent brown bourlette. Highest quality enamel. Exceptional color!  The serrations are razor sharp. Note - three serrations at the tip were professionally restored. The root is nicely articulated with an excellent light tan color. It is also extra wide (4-5/8") with typical hydration cracks and absolutely complete. This Megalodon was found in the Pungo River Formation, Lee Creek mine, Aurora, No. Carolina (Miocene age = 14.5 MYA). An excellent BIG collector's tooth from the old days at Lee Creek mine! An ultra rare, Top Quality Red Site Otodus megalodon tooth from the Meherrin River, North Carolina. This Megalodon is an upper jaw anterior tooth from the Meherrin River copper-red site. Bourlette is lighter brown and 80% complete. The root is extra wide & complete with large grooves on the root lobes. This is defintely a Miocene Meg tooth. Note - the tip only was restored.
