Carcharocles megalodon - Caribbean
An ULTRA RARE, Top Quality 5-3/8" Caribbean Megalodon tooth - an upper jaw PRINCIPAL ANTERIOR tooth. An April 2022 Fossil of the Month offering. This Megalodon tooth has an incredible orange colored crown. Highest quality enamel with very small hydration cracks. The bourlette is tan & orange colored and near perfect. Note - tooth was recovered years ago from an old quarry that produced colorful teeth. Fantastic color! The serrations are razor sharp and essentially complete. Excellent serrations overall. The root is an orange color and no hydration cracks. Note - this tooth has professional restoration on tip and the root (typical for these teeth). Otherwise a perfect tooth. Excellent symmetry. This Megalodon was found in a commercial limestone quarry in the Caribbean (Miocene age). This is an incredibly colored Caribbean Megalodon tooth. One of finest examples of an ultra rare Caribbean Megalodon tooth that is natural that I have seen. An exceptional, rare collector's Megalodon tooth! Museum Quality Megalodon. Authenticity guaranteed. Note - The limestone is sawed into thin blocks for extraction which totally destroys 99%+ of these Megalodon teeth. The teeth with minimal damage are restored for collectors.
