    An EXTRA LARGE, TOP QUALITY Classic Lee Creek Chubutensis tooth - upper jaw ANTERIOR tooth from Aurora, No. Carolina. This Chubutensis has an excellent tan colored crown and a nice brown bourlette. Highest quality enamel. Great color! The serrations are large and razor sharp with a partially worn tip. The root is an excellent gray color and complete with one hydration crack. The root also exhibits grooves on the root ends. This Chubutensis was found in the Pungo River Formation, Lee Creek mine, NC (Miocene age = 14.5 MYA). A great example of a classic Lee Creek Chubutensis tooth and one of the best considering the shape, color, and preservation. A rare, BIG collector's tooth from the old days at Lee Creek mine!     A rare EXTRA LARGE, 3-7/16" TOP QUALITY, Lee Creek Otodus chubutensis, a O. megalodon predecessor, from Aurora, No. Carolina. A February Fossil of the Month. This tooth was found in the Pungo River Formation (middle Miocene age). Note the crown exhibits large cusplike bumps at the base of the serrated edge and the root ends also show grooves where the teeth interlocked. These are characteristic traits of the Lee Creek early Meg - Otodus chubutensis. A gorgeous tan colored crown with a fantastic red-tan bourlette. Incredible serrations with a needle-like tip serration!  Serrations are just about 100% complete (1 with very minor damage). The root is light tan colored with very small cracks. Highest quality enamel! Fantastic color! No repair or restoration. Authenticity guaranteed. My BEST XL Chub tooth!
