A Top Quality, Extra Large Triceratops horridus hoof core (pes claw) from the late Cretaceous of northern North America. A February Fossil of the Month. Triceratops was a large ceratopsian dinosaur found in the Hell Creek and Lance Creek formations which is know for the large frill protecting its neck. This adult hoof core has exceptional detail preserved and good color. Note - Triceratops hoof cores are generally smaller than Hadrosaur, have a very rugous surface, have a characteristeristic ledge on the under side (see photo #3), are thinner than Hadrosaur, and are more difficult to find. No repair or restoration. 100% natural specimen. Legally collected on private land in Carter Co., Montana. Authenticity guaranteed. True Triceratops hoof cores are difficult to locate, and this is a big one.
