A Top Quality, 6" ULTRA RARE Caribbean Megalodon tooth - an upper anterior jaw tooth. A February Fossil of the Month offering. This Megalodon tooth has an incredible rich tan colored crown with interesting light charcoal gray patterning. Highest quality enamel with essentially no hydration cracks or peel. Exceptional color! The bourlette is white colored and 95% complete. The serrations are large, razor sharp and 100% complete including a big tip serration. Exceptional serrations for a big Meg! The root is an excellent creamy tan and gold color with no hydration cracks. An extra wide root (4-1/2" wide). Note - there was one shallow saw cut on the right side of the crown and it was professionally restored (see last photo for area). Minor tooth damage compared too most of them. Otherwise, a perfect tooth. This Megalodon was found in a limestone quarry in the Caribbean (Miocene age). One of finest examples of an ultra rare Caribbean Megalodon tooth that I have seen considering the shape, color, and preservation. An exceptional rare collector's Megalodon tooth! Museum Quality Megalodon. Note - The limestone is sawed into thin blocks for extraction which totally destroys 99%+ of these Megalodon teeth. Best of the BEST!
