A GEM, 5-3/4" ULTRA RARE Caribbean Megalodon tooth - an upper jaw ANTERIOR tooth. Another August 2018 Fossil of the Month offering. This Megalodon tooth has an incredible light creamy tan colored crown with interesting deep peach colors and light charcoal gray patterning. Highest quality enamel with no hydration cracks. Exceptional color! The bourlette is large and perfect. The serrations are razor sharp with an exceptional big tip serration. PERFECT serrations which is exceptional for a big Meg! The root is an excellent creamy golden tan color with no hydration cracks. A very wide root. Note - there is a small area at the base of the right root lobe which was cut and rebuilt. Otherwise, a perfect tooth. This Megalodon was found in a limestone quarry in the Caribbean (Miocene age). This is an incredible 5-3/4"” Caribbean Meg tooth. One of finest examples of an ultra rare Caribbean Megalodon tooth that I have seen considering the shape, color, and preservation. An exceptional collector's XL Megalodon tooth! Museum Quality Megalodon. The limestone is sawed into thin blocks for extraction which totally destroys 99% of these Meg teeth. Best of the BEST!
