    A GEM I. hastalis tooth. Upper jaw position. The tooth is PERFECT. An excellent tan color with exceptional gloss. The root shows incredible detail. Absolutely great preservation and condition - extra sharp edges and tip - exceptionally clean. This is a Miocene age tooth from the Pungo River Fm. A fantastic collector's tooth. Museum quality.

    The Isurus hastalis is an earlier form Big-Tooth Mako found in the Pungo River Formation (Middle Miocene - ~15 mya) at the Lee Creek site. These early Isurus hastalis have a very distinct tooth form. The upper jaw teeth exhibit a narrower and typically curved crown than the later stage Isurus xiphodon teeth.
