Isurus sp.

A nice group of Mako shark teeth are from an unknown species - possibly Isurus desori. Some exhibit wide tooth specie characteristics and some resemble the narrow tooth form. All teeth are non-serrate and are without side cusps.

    A rare Mako shark tooth from Sumatra, Indonesia. These teeth appear to be juvenile Isurus desori teeth (narrow crown) and are scarce in the Sumatran deposit. They were deposited in the Telisa formation - a shallow marine environment during the middle Miocene (approx. 15 million years ago.) A very unique collector's tooth. D051 is the upper jaw tooth on the left. Authenticity guaranteed.
