An ultra rare, top quality 5-1/8" Sharktooth Hill Megalodon tooth found in the Round Mountain Silt near Bakersfield, California. A location that produces very few Megalodon teeth and one of the toughest Megs to locate. An October Fossil of the Month. This Megalodon tooth has the highest quality enamel with a great tan color. The bourlette is a red brown color and 80% complete. The root is nicely articulated and complete. The serrations are complete with a great tip serration - incredible serrations for a Sharktooth Hill Meg tooth! This is a middle Miocene Meg. Note - the "Chubutensis-like" bumps at the base of the serrated edge - very unique - an early Miocene Meg tooth feature! 100% natural. No repair or restoration. You do not see these middle Miocene Sharktooth Hill Megs from Bakersfield, California very often. One of the rarest Megs! Authenticity guaranteed. A LARGE, TOP QUALITY, very rare Basilosaurus cetoides, an Archaeocete whale tooth found in the Flint River, Georgia. An exceptional molar tooth (see photo for tooth positions). A July Fossil of the Month. An excellent brown colored crown and a light brown root. Nicely articulated. Incredible preservation! Note - the enamel tip shows absolutely no wear pattern on crown. There is a very shallow natural wear facet on the shoulder from an opposing tooth. Whales do not shed their teeth like the sharks so there teeth will wear with age. An Eocene age tooth (35 MYA). No repair or restoration. A fantastic Archaeocete tooth from the Flint River, Georgia. A very rare collector's tooth from an old collection. A very special perfect tooth. Exceptional quality enamel. The black bourlette is large and 60% complete. The serrations and tip serration are razor sharp. The root is complete with a light charcoal color and typical hydration cracks. Large serrated edge enamel wave near base. A wide root. No repair or restoration. Authenticity guaranteed.
