Lee Creek Chubutensis
Excellent teeth from one of the most highly sought fossil shark teeth - an extinct early Giant White shark, C. chubutensis. C. chubutensis is an early form of C. megalodon (early - middle Miocene, Pungo River Formation) which exhibits the development of small side cusps. These are gorgeous teeth from the Lee Creek phosphate mine. You do not see many of this early Megalodon species available! Please note that Lee Creek produces C. megalodon and C. chubutensis teeth that are among the highest quality available, and exceptional specimens are exceedingly difficult to locate. NO restoration or repair in this group! Note - LC Chubs are getting much more difficult to locate. High quality Chubs are near impossible to to find! Authenticity guaranteed.

A HIGH QUALITY, Lee Creek Carcharocles chubutensis, a C. megalodon predecessor, from Aurora, No. Carolina. This tooth was found in the Pungo River Formation (middle Miocene age). Note the crown exhibits large cusplike bumps at the base of the serrated edge and the root ends also show grooves where the teeth interlocked. These are characteristic traits of the Lee Creek early Meg - C. chubutensis. A gorgeous light tan colored crown with an incredible light tan bourlette. Very good serrations.
