Carcharocles chubutensis (Lee Creek)
A QUALITY, Classic Lee Creek Chubutensis tooth - upper jaw lateral tooth from Aurora, No. Carolina. This Chubutensis has a nice tan colored crown with a brown bourlette. Highest quality enamel. Exceptional color! The bourlette looks great, and is complete. The serrations are razor sharp with a rounded tip. The root is an excellent brown color with esse ntially no hydration cracks. This Chubutensis was found in the Pungo River Formation, Lee Creek mine, NC (Miocene age = 14.5 MYA). A good example of a classic Lee Creek Chubutensis tooth considering the shape, color, and preservation. A nice collector's tooth from the old days at Lee Creek mine! NO repair or restoration.
