A LARGE, HIGH QUALITY Chubutensis tooth - an lower jaw anterior tooth from So. Carolina. Carcharocles chubutensis or Chubutensis is the extinct ancestor of the Megalodon shark. An excellent tan colored crown. Highest quality enamel. The dark brown bourlette is extra large and 70% complete. Sharp serrations with an excellent tip serration. Note - the two cusp-like bumps at the base of the cuttting edge - a Chubutensis characteristic.The root is tan colored and complete with few hydration cracks. No repair or restoration. Authenticity guaranteed. A rare, large collector's Chubutensis tooth.
