A TOP QUALITY, Classic Lee Creek Chubutensis tooth - upper jaw ANTERIOR tooth from Aurora, No. Carolina. This Chubutensis has an incredible tan colored crown with a brown band at the base and a nice brown bourlette. Highest quality enamel. Exceptional color! The bourlette looks great, and is complete. The serrations are razor sharp and essentially complete with a small nick to one. Tip serration is strong. The root is an excellent light tan color and complete with few hydration cracks. This Chubutensis was found in the Pungo River Formation, Lee Creek mine, NC (Miocene age = 14.5 MYA). A large example of a classic Lee Creek Chubutensis tooth considering the shape, color, and preservation. An exceptional collector's tooth from the old days at Lee Creek mine!
