Carcharodon carcharias

    Out of stock

VERY NICE lower jaw Great White tooth. Solid gray colored enamel and a solid gray colored root. Root is well preserved - very difficult to find in the Carolina GWs. Very good sharp serrations. It is very difficult to locate a serrated lower jaw tooth!

    SC908                    SIZE: 1-11/16"

This catalog contains very nice teeth from a difficult to find fossil shark tooth - the Great White shark, Carcharodon carcharias. The Carcharodon carcharias is found ismuch less quantities than the Megalodon in the SC sites. These teeth are noted for their wide triangular crowns which are fully serrated, but relative to the Megalodon the teeth are much thinner and smaller. These teeth are late Miocene or Pliocene in age (approx. 4 million years ago). Note - These SC Great White teeth are really scarce. The big ones with complete roots are really rare!
