An ultra RARE, LARGE Troodon metatarsal from the Hell Creek Fm. of western North America. This is metatarsal IV. The bone quality is excellent with a great brown color. Minor erosion on the top end. No repair or restoration. Legally collected on private land in the Hell Creek Fm., Powder River Co., Montana. Troodontids are a small, bird-like dinosaur that lived in western N. America during the late Cretaceous Period. There is one named species from the Judith River Fm. of Montana - Troodon formosus. In recently recents, the North American Troodontid has been lump into two new genera - Stenonychosaurus and Latenivenatrix mcmasterae (van der Reest & Currie, 2017). Troodontids are know for a large brain, large eyes, and a very unique shaped tooth. The Hell Creek Fm. Troodontid has not been described, but it shares the same very unique tooth as all Troodontids do.
