An ultra rare, top quality 5-3/4" Sharktooth Hill Megalodon tooth found in the Round Mountain Silt near Bakersfield, California. A location that produces very few Megalodon teeth and one of the toughest Megs to locate. This tooth was found in the Ernst West quarry. An October Fossil of the Month.  This Megalodon tooth has the highest quality enamel with a great Blue & Tan color. The bourlette is a brown color and nearly complete. The root is nicely articulated and complete. The serrations are complete with a good tip serration - incredible serrations for a large Sharktooth Hill Meg tooth! This is a middle Miocene Meg. Note - the grooves on the root ends and the small root "ears" at the top of the root - a Miocene Meg tooth feature!  Note - a 3/8" enamel section pooped off and was reattached on the right side (1/2" from the root). An Ultra Rare, Hexanchus griseus tooth from the Sacaco area of Peru. This is lower jaw tooth. Superb preservation and color. Seven very large and sharp primary cusps. The root has been repaired with a patch on each end. A February Fossil of the Month. Highest quality enamel with a great brown and charcoal colors. The bourlette is a tan color and is nearly complete. The serrations are extra large & sharp and complete with a big tip serration. The root is nicely articulated and complete. Note the large grooves on the root ends - an early Miocene trait. This is a rare early Miocene (22 MYA) Meg from the Jewitt Sand Fm.- very unique! You never see these early Miocene Megs from Bakersfield, California. One of the rarest Megs! No repair or restoration. Holmsella sp.; an  Extinct Primitive shark

A very rare shark skin specimen. This matrix piece is covered with dermal denticals. Shark skin impressions with denticals are extremely rare and a Paleozoic age find adds to the rarity. An exceptional collector's piece from an old collection!
