Carcharocles megalodon - Caribbean
An ULTRA RARE, GEM 5-1/2" Caribbean Megalodon tooth - an upper jaw PRINCIPAL ANTERIOR tooth. A June 2020 Fossil of the Month offering. This Megalodon tooth has an incredible light tan colored crown with peach highlights on the display side and red highlights on the reverse. Highest quality enamel with no hydration cracks. The bourlette is large, white color, and perfect. Note - tooth was recovered years ago from an old quarry that produced colorful teeth. Fantastic color! The serrations are razor sharp and essentially complete. Excellent serrations overall. The root is extra wide and exceptional with a golden color and no hydration cracks. Note - this tooth has professional restoration on tip area only. Otherwise a perfect tooth. Excellent symmetry. This Megalodon was found in a commercial limestone quarry in the Caribbean (Miocene age). This is an incredibly colored Caribbean Megalodon tooth. One of finest examples of an ultra rare Caribbean Megalodon tooth that is natural that I have seen. An exceptional, rare collector's Megalodon tooth! Museum Quality Megalodon.
