There are two catalogs devoted to very rare Mississippian Period shark teeth from US sites and two catalogs devoted to very rare Russian Carboniferous & Permian age shark teeth. Note - Shark species are listed by site below (Russian & US sites are separate). Note - Added new group of US Paleozoic teeth from an old collection assembled from 1950 to the 1980s. These Iowa and Nebraska sites are no longer accessible or productive. There are 6 new species including exceptional Peripristis and Petalodus teeth. About the Mississippian Harrodsburg Limestone Locality (Catalogs #1 & #2)-Wonderfully preserved Mississippian age shark were fossilized in the Harrodsburg Limestone in Indiana, Kansas, and Kentucky. These teeth are from quite strange early sharks and are definitely very rare. The Harrodsburg Limestone Formation was formed during lower middle Mississippian Period - 342 million years ago. The Raytown Limestone Formation was formed during the Pennsylvanian Period (Missourian) - 300 million years ago. New Pennsylvanian Period sites added from Nebraska and Iowa from an old collection. About the Russian Paleozoic Localities (Catalogs #1 & #2) - Very rare teeth are coming from predominately four Russian Paleozoic sites. Teeth range in age from 250 to 320 million years ago.
