Parotodus benedeni
(Extinct False Mako shark)
The Parotodus benedeni is a very rare species
found in the Lee Creek mine. These teeth are massive with huge root. This large
predator must have crushed its prey. You never see these teeth for sale!

A very nice, very rare Parotodus
benedeni teeth. This is an earlier Parotodus from the
Miocene. The Miocene Parotodus are smaller and have a more square
root structure appearance. The crown has sharp cutting edges. The root is ~3/8"
thick. Excellent olive color with a white root. This
incredible Parotodus was found in the Pungo River Formation (Miocene
age). A rare collector's tooth.

Exceptional, very rare Parotodus
benedeni teeth. Anterior tooth. The crown has sharp cutting edges.
Exceptional light tan color
and preservation. An incredible wide bourlette. The root is ~3/4"
thick and shows essentially no hydration cracks! One of the
best LC anterior Parotodus teeth that I have seen. Minor feeding
damage to the tip. This incredible Parotodus was found in the Yorktown Formation (Pliocene
age). A very special, rare collector's tooth.
