No. Carolina - Carcharocles megalodon
Copper Red Site
This catalog contains
exceptional copper
red colored teeth from the
most highly sought fossil shark - the extinct Giant White shark, C. megalodon.
These teeth are from the Miocene Pungo River Fm. and the Pliocene Yorktown Fm. (like the Lee Creek site), but
are found in the northern part of the state known for the rare copper
red colored
teeth. These copper
red colored teeth are quite rare and very
difficult to find which adds to their rarity.
All teeth listed are near museum quality or better. NO restoration or repair in this group!
One of the rarest Megs
available. Try finding one of these species with the
rare copper
red colors!
Note - all teeth sizes are slant height unless otherwise
noted. Click on photos to enlarge.

GORGEOUS, HUGE copper red colored
Megalodon - upper jaw anterior tooth. Rare
copper red colors! Top quality enamel with
no enamel peel. The dark
brown bourlette is essentially complete - very rare for
this site. The serrations are razor sharp including an incredible tip
serration. The root is extra wide, nicely articulated, and
complete - also very rare for this site. The "root ears" on this tooth
suggests it is a Miocene Meg! Note - the center area of the crown on
the flat side exhibits a series of grooves from repeated bites marks prior
to shearing the lower right edge of the crown and expelling the tooth. This
shark was doing some intense biting on this dislodged tooth!
Incredible color. Excellent symmetry. No repair! Exceptional color!
An
extremely rare collector's big Meg - one of the largest
that I have seen!
